In the file "Prdm9_primates.fasta", PRDM9 sequences are given in fasta format for Western gorillas (6 alleles), Sumatran orangutans (6 alleles), siamangs (4 alleles) and rhesus macaques (6 alleles). - The sequence is given on the minus strand (-). - The sequence starts at the first zinc finger with the C2H2 structure, i.e., it does not include the first zinc finger farther upstream - The sequence stops after the STOP codon in the last zinc finger so that the last zinc finger is truncated by 3bp (total length = 81bp instead of 84bp), except for orangutans where there is no STOP codon and therefore the sequence extends until the end of the last zinc finger with a C2H2 structure. - The nomenclature of the alleles is given as follows: "Allele Name" _ "Individual it was found in" _ "Number of zinc fingers, not including the first zinc finger farer upstream". - When individuals are homozygous for the same allele, they are separately listed and named Name_1/2 and Name_2/2.
